Nepal/Langtang Region |
The Langtang Region, also referred to as “the Valley of Glaciers,” lies directly north of Kathmandu Valley. Although this is moderate to rigorous trekking and has dense rhododendron forest, it offers spectacular sceneries of lofty Himalayan peaks, ancient Buddhists monasteries, glaciers and mountain lakes. Along the way, you will be able to see ‘Goasainkunda’, one of the holiest lakes in Nepal where thousands of Hindu pilgrims come each August to bathe in its cold and spiritually refreshing water. This trek ends at Melamchipul Bazaar on the banks of Indravati River, a great opportunity to do some browsing and gift-shopping. |
